Mérida, Yucatán.

Les feux d'artifice illuminent le ciel nocturne de la vieille Mérida, leur lueur se reflétant sur la surface ondulante d'une piscine. Cachée derrière une façade coloniale discrète se trouve cette oasis moderniste, où le verre et le travertin encadrent un jardin débordant de vie : palmiers, oiseaux de paradis, plants de gingembre feuillus bordant la piscine. Un goyavier, chargé de fruits mûrs, embaume l'air de sa douceur, se mêlant au parfum enivrant des fleurs de champaca et au profond arôme des bois tropicaux. Sous l'arbre, une idole maya usée par le temps est à moitié enfouie, murmurant silencieusement les histoires anciennes tissées dans le quotidien de cette ville vibrante.
