Mimo tych klasycznych wpływów zapach nigdy nie wydaje się przestarzały, być może za sprawą wspaniałego, lodowatego efektu aldehydów lub metalicznego posmaku róży. Jego najbliższym krewnym jest prawdopodobnie Chanel No 18, ekskluzywny zapach butikowy zbudowany wokół centralnego akordu róży, irysa i ambrette, choć Le Cri wydaje się nieco bardziej formalny.

The rose and orris together smell like clean skin rather than a bouquet, which I wasn't expecting. It stays close for the first hour, then the musk and woods creep in and it just gets warmer. Wore it to a dinner and kept catching it on my scarf the next morning.

I expected the aldehydes to hit sharp, but they soften into a powdery orris and rose within twenty minutes, which is lovely. Projection is quieter than I'd like for the price, though it clings close to the skin for a good six hours.
