Description Cocktail time, March 1930 Mayfair, London.
A group of architects gather for cocktails at Mayfair's smartest Art Deco smoking room. As they settle in the warm interior of dark woods, leather, and velvet, London's bright young things burst in, frosted martinis in hand, surrounded by a cloud of laughter, white smoke and fine vanilla. Opening with an extremely intriguing and surprisingly coalesced lemon and chocolate combination, the slow drydown process comes to reveal layers of complexity that settle into a decadent vanilla pipe tobacco that begs to be enjoyed over and again.

The peppery juniper and bitter orange hit immediately but it's the guaiac wood and amber drydown that really lingers for hours. I took a chance on this because of the discounted damaged box and honestly the bottle inside was totally fine.

The box may be dented but the bottle inside is flawless, and that juniper berry note over the guaiac wood is exactly the smoky-forest scent I was hoping for. I've worn it three days straight and the amber drydown lasts well into the evening.

I was bracing for a letdown after the box mishap, but once I sprayed it, the juniper berry and angelica root cut through with a green, almost peppery brightness that dries down to a warm, resinous amber. It’s been four hours and the guaiac wood is still humming on my skin, which is more than I expec
