Enlèvement au Sérai was one of Francis Kurkdjian and MDCI's earliest phenomenon, as it captivated those who love retro, dense, and elegant white florals of a bygone era (and equally shocked them when it was discontinued due to ingredient scarcity). This new iteration is their answer to the many requests for its return, as well as a celebration of their ability to build a new version that stands up to the original.

The tuberose and jasmine sambac in the heart make this feel properly luxurious, not the thin floral I was bracing for. Ylang-ylang keeps it creamy without turning soapy on my skin, and I still catch it on my scarf the next morning.

The mandarin and bergamot opening is so bright it almost fizzes, then the Turkish rose and ylang-ylang settle in for hours. I wore it to dinner and could still catch the patchouli and sandalwood on my wrist the next morning.

The tuberose and jasmine sambac hit hard at first spray, almost too much, but give it twenty minutes and the sandalwood and patchouli settle it into something warm and grown-up. I wore it to a dinner and got asked twice what it was. Easily the most complimented bottle I've owned.
