Description Cocktail time, March 1930 Mayfair, London.
A group of architects gather for cocktails at Mayfair's smartest Art Deco smoking room. As they settle in the warm interior of dark woods, leather, and velvet, London's bright young things burst in, frosted martinis in hand, surrounded by a cloud of laughter, white smoke and fine vanilla. Opening with an extremely intriguing and surprisingly coalesced lemon and chocolate combination, the slow drydown process comes to reveal layers of complexity that settle into a decadent vanilla pipe tobacco that begs to be enjoyed over and again.

The bitter orange and lemon open brighter than I expected for something this woody, then the guaiac and oak settle in for hours. I've worn it to dinner three times now and the vanilla absolute keeps it from ever going sharp. Genuinely one of the most balanced resinous scents I've owned.

The juniper and pepperwood give it a sharp, almost gin-like opening that I liked, but the dry-down turns sweeter than I expected from the vanilla and amber. It wears close to the skin after a couple hours, so I'm reapplying more than I'd like for the price.
