Mérida, Yucatán.

Fogos de artifício iluminam o céu noturno da antiga Mérida, com seu brilho refletido na superfície ondulante de uma piscina. Escondido atrás de uma fachada colonial discreta, encontra-se este oásis modernista, onde superfícies de vidro e travertino emolduram um jardim repleto de vida: palmeiras, flores de ave-do-paraíso, plantas de gengibre frondosas na borda da piscina. Uma goiabeira, carregada de frutos maduros, enche o ar de doçura, misturando-se ao aroma intenso das flores de champaca e ao profundo perfume das madeiras tropicais. Debaixo da árvore, um ídolo maia desgastado jaz semi-enterrado, sussurrando silenciosamente as histórias antigas tecidas no cotidiano desta cidade vibrante.
