I bought this for cold weather and the labdanum and vanilla absolute dry down is exactly what I wanted, warm and resinous without turning sweet. The oud and guaiac wood keep it grounded, and it lasts a solid eight hours on my skin.
The clove and balsam Peru open sharp and churchy for the first twenty minutes, then it settles into this warm resinous oud that stays close to the skin for hours. I've been wearing it on cold evenings and the guaiac wood drydown is the part I keep coming back for.
The labdanum and vanilla absolute keep this from turning into a straight-up punch of clove, which is exactly what I wanted. On my skin it settles into this smoky resinous warmth after an hour or so, and I keep catching it on my scarf the next day.
